Nothing says summer like a bowl of oatmeal … not! If a warm bowl of oatmeal isn’t the first thing that comes to mind on a hot sunny morning, then we have the perfect summer oatmeal flavors for you (you can always enjoy the oats cold too: Overnight Oatmeal 2 Ways). Bonus! Oatmeal is a perfect guilt-free breakfast for bathing suit season J. How do you enjoy your oats in the summer months?
Banana Split Oatmeal
- 1 banana
- ¼ cup Coach’s Oats®
- ¾ cup water
- Cherries, fresh or frozen
- 6 oz. plain Greek yogurt (we used Chobani®)
- Vanilla
- Honey
- Dark chocolate chips
- Sprinkles
Preheat oven to 400°.
Roast banana (peel and all) in oven for 15 minutes. Prepare oats and water as usual, microwave or stovetop method. I used the microwave for 4 minutes at 70% power. Mix vanilla (about ½ to ¾ capful) and honey in yogurt, to your desired sweetness/flavor.
Carefully cut the banana in half lengthwise and remove from peel. Top oatmeal with banana, yogurt, chocolate
chips, cherries and sprinkles, of course!
