After all the sweets and “dessert” oatmeal lately, we think this is the perfect time to start a savory oatmeal series. Oats are an incredibly versatile grain and can be transformed with many flavors. Remember our Pizza Friday Oatmeal and Oatmeal Stuffing? Have you ever tried using oatmeal in a non-traditional way? We’d love to hear about it!
- ¼ cup Coach’s Oats®
- ¾ cup water
- Ham, diced
- Cheese, cubed (we used cheddar)
- Green onion
- Hot sauce, optional
Cook oats as directed (we cooked the oats in the microwave). Heat a small skillet over medium heat and warm ham as oats cook. Top oats with ham, cheese, green onion and hot sauce. (Adjust ingredients to your desired tastes).
