People frequently ask whether our oats are GMO (genetically modified organisms). GMO refers to items that have been altered from their original state by genetic engineering techniques.
The good news for Coach’s Oats fans and oatmeal fans everywhere is that there are no GMO commercially grown oats.
Oats grown for commercial use have six chromosomes, which makes the hexaploid grain difficult to genetically modify. There’s also no need to worry about other GMO grains contaminating oats in nature. Even if a GMO plant/grain is grown next to a field of oats, the GMO grain will not cross-pollinate with the oats.
So, to assure and answer all our fans, Coach’s Oats are indeed non-GMO.

It is not the point of gmo specifically. Take for instance, Monsanto's Roundup contains chemicals that include pesticides. Yes, the pesticides is built right into the seed.
one more reason i love coach's oats. if only youd get your product into more stores – like Henry's, Von's, and WinCo.
Rather deceptive since there are NO GMO OATS grown!
I LOVE Coach’s Oats and relieved that GMO’s can’t infiltrate this great product. What I would love even more is a pesticide free version. Are their any organic versions in the works??
Do Coach’s Oats contain glycophosphate?
Hi Daniel,
In order to receive USDA organic certification, our organic oats are required to be grown without the use of glyphosate.
Are Coaches Oats gluten free?
Hi Jennifer,
Oats themselves do not contain gluten. However, it appears that there may be some proteins, or amino acid sequences, found in oats that are similar enough to those found in gluten to cause a reaction. The biggest issue may be contamination of oat products by wheat, rye or barley. There is the possibility for a small amount of these other grains to be present in the oat groats that we purchase and mill into Coach’s Oats cereal. Also, Coach’s Oats is not milled on gluten-free equipment; this can slightly increase the possibility of exposure. Sensitivity to gluten varies from person to person. We recommend that people with gluten sensitivities consult a health care professional for guidance when considering cereal-based foods.
