`Twas the morning before Christmas, and all through breakfast friends couldn’t help but say, “Pass more oats this way!” The oatmeal was a success! Coach had employed some of his women’s gymnastics team to serve the breakfast that Christmas Eve. The athletes knew it was “Coach’s house” and “Coach’s kitchen,” and so naturally they would serve “Coach’s oats.”
The oats left a lasting impression on the taste buds of everyone who attended and the Rogers’ special Christmas Eve breakfast. In the weeks that followed, they kept fielding requests from friends to have more of the unique oats. Shortly after, word of mouth was spreading and strangers began asking for Coach’s oats.
One day, a friend asked to take Coach’s oats to a natural food show. Not thinking much of it, Coach and Bonnie figured, what’s the worst that could happen? Little did they know, the vice president of Roman Meal Milling Company (now Dakota Specialty Milling) would be there and become hooked on Coach’s Oats. After the show, Roman Meal asked Coach to travel to their headquarters in North Dakota to discuss the possibilities and future of Coach’s Oats…
A referral or suggestion by word of mouth is the best compliment there is. Is there anything you tried and loved because a friend recommended it to you or have you loved something so much to recommend to friends?
