In honor of Veterans Day on Wednesday, I would love to share some patriotism as Coach’s Oats proudly honors our country. For all our troops overseas, at home and those who have proudly served, we would just like to give our thanks.
While searching the web and talking with friends of Coach’s Oats we came across a fun article* describing the origins of “Hooah”, “Hooyah” or “OohRah” as pronounced by some. Although the different branches of the military may pronounce or spell the term differently, Former Army Chief of Staff Gen. Gordon R. Sullivan states,
“It means we have broken the mold. We are battle focused. Hooah says ‘Look at me. I’m a warrior. I’m ready. Sergeants trained me to standard. I serve America every day, all the way.’”
Again, we’d just like to take some time out of the day to honor our troops. Wednesday is time to reflect on our gratitude and respect for all of our armed forces and their families.
Coach’s Oats gives a special shout out to all the troops of who served and serve on the USS Ronald Reagan. Hooyah!
