This is our first blog! I’m Coach Lizzy, and I want to reach out to all our fans online. What better way to start our blog than at the beginning. We receive numerous calls and inquiries from fans interested to hear how Coach’s Oats got started. Like most stories, it began when a man loved a woman. Lynn and Bonnie Rogers (pictured at right) met, fell in love, and got married. As Coach tells it, “When you’re older you pay for your own wedding,” so that is just what they did. Unfortunately it left them tight on cash a few weeks before Christmas.
Instead of giving Christmas gifts, the Rogers’ thought of cooking up a good old-fashioned Christmas Eve breakfast, complete with the works. They decided they weren’t going to do anything half way. That is not the way Coach works. The adventurous couple decided to start from scratch. They were going to put in all the time and effort to make sure everything was made to perfection, even the oatmeal…

I am very excited to hear that you have a blog now. We tried Coach's Oats about 1 year ago when we saw them at Costco. I really like them! I was even more excited to learn that you were a local company, as I live in Anaheim Hills.
Keep up the great work.

First I thought it was interesting that Coach Rogers was a gymnastics coach at the college level and involved with a YMCA. My husband, Jerry, was a member of the Paterson, NJ YMCA Circus Club for years and after earning a doctorate at UMASS, went on to coach the Men’s Gymnastics Team at Eastern Kentucky University until they did away with the team. He ended by teaching in the Physics and Astronomy Dept. at EKU.
He always hated oatmeal for breakfast until he discovered you can eat it COLD without cooking it with milk or later with Ensure (since he lost a leg to a very aggressive sarcoma).. He sometimes adds another cereal to the oats but for sure as many types of fruits (banana, frozen berries), etc. to the cold cereal.
He picked out Coach’s Oats while we were at Costco the other day. I kidded him he only purchased it because it was put out by a gymnastics coach.
