All Hallows’ Eve is right around the corner and it’s time to get ready for the trick-or-treaters, costumes and candy eaters. Even spookier are all the calories and sugar rushes that come with the fun-filled evening. Lucky for you, we’re back to provide ideas to keep your day balanced and festive. A great way to avoid over-indulging is starting off with breakfast. Oatmeal is a fantastic way to start your day. Oats provide a steady flow of energy to the bloodstream and eliminate the sugar rush and crash effect of many other cereals, muffins or processed bar. Pair any of these scary bowls with eggs, veggie sausage, a glass of milk, low fat yogurt or nut butter for an extra boost of protein to ensure a nourishing meal. Don’t let this Halloween haunt your health!
⅓ cup Coach’s Oats®
1 cup water
¼ cup pure pumpkin puree (we used Libby’s)
Pumpkin pie spice (to your liking)
½ Tbsp. pure maple syrup
Vanilla Greek yogurt
Caramel sauce*, jam or chocolate for decoration
⅓ cup Coach’s Oats®
1 cup milk (soy, cow, almond, etc.)
1 cup spinach (roughly a large handful or two)
Pure maple syrup – to sweeten
Slivered almonds, dusted with cocoa powder
Melted dark chocolate chips

1 apple, diced

⅓ cup Coach’s Oats®
1 cup water
1 cup frozen/fresh berries (we used blueberries and black berries)
Blackberry preserves
Vanilla Greek Yogurt
Sweetener of your choice
In a small pot bring water to boil. Once boiling, add oats, berries and reduce heat. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring and smashing the berries occasionally. Add desired spices, sweeteners. Decorate monster with blackberry preserves and yogurt.
