Oatmeal tops the list of edibles that can help boost your mood, according to a recent article by registered dietician Shara Aaron.
“ Fiber-rich carbs, particularly oatmeal or whole-wheat or whole-grain bread, increase the feel-good chemical serotonin but don’t break down as easily in your bloodstream as the refined sugar in desserts does,” wrote by Aaron in Parents Magazine’s current issue.
Other feel-good foods that were listed: mixed nuts, berries and yogurt. So if you’re feeling blue and want to lift your spirits, go for a bowl of oatmeal, top with berries and nuts, and smile.
