A summertime breakfast, snack or after-dinner treat is only eight ingredients away. Making your own granola bars is a great alternative to the store-bought snacks. You can control your ingredients going in and customize the flavors to your families’ favorites. And did we mention you get to use your Coach’s Oats?
Ingredients
2 cups Coach’s Oats
¼ cup almond meal
½ cup unsweetened coconut flakes
¼ cup agave syrup (or honey)
2 Tbs. butter
¼ cup brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
½ tsp. salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 300°.
- Combine butter, brown sugar and syrup in a saucepan over medium to high heat. Bring to a bubble. Reduce heat. Cook an additional two minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla and salt.
- In a large bowl mix oats, coconut and almond meal together. Add sugar and syrup mixture to oats. Combine well. Spread oats onto a prepared 8 inch baking sheet. Sprinkle additional coconut flakes on top. Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown. Allow to cool completely. Cut and enjoy.
