
The following recipe comes from a longtime Coach’s Oats fan:
Ingredients
- 1 ¼ cups water
- ¼ cup Coach Oats® (for thicker oatmeal, add 3-4 Tbsp more oats)
- 2-3 Tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
- Your choice of sweetener:
- Raw sugar, maple syrup or agave nectar
- 2% whole milk or almond milk
Instructions
- Bring water to a boil in saucepan. Once water is boiling, add oats and lower heat to a simmer. Let simmer for 5 minutes (stirring constantly).
- Add cocoa powder and mix well until lumps are gone. Stir in your favorite sweetener.
- For a decadent treat, use maple syrup if you are not on a diet. For a healthier treat, use either raw sugar crystals or agave nectar.
- To finish it up, top chocolate oatmeal with your favorite fresh fruit such as blueberries or strawberries. For an additional treat, sprinkle with chopped almonds and/or unsweetened toasted grated coconut!
- If desired, pour over a ¼ cup of cold almond milk as desired or 2% whole milk.
