¼ cup Coach Oats® (for thicker oatmeal, add 3-4 Tbsp more oats)
2-3 Tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
Your choice of sweetener:
Raw sugar, maple syrup or agave nectar
2% whole milk or almond milk
Bring water to a boil in saucepan. Once water is boiling, add oats and lower heat to a simmer. Let simmer for 5 minutes (stirring constantly).
Add cocoa powder and mix well until lumps are gone. Stir in your favorite sweetener.
For a decadent treat, use maple syrup if you are not on a diet. For a healthier treat, use either raw sugar crystals or agave nectar.
To finish it up, top chocolate oatmeal with your favorite fresh fruit such as blueberries or strawberries. For an additional treat, sprinkle with chopped almonds and/or unsweetened toasted grated coconut!
If desired, pour over a ¼ cup of cold almond milk as desired or 2% whole milk.
