As with many small businesses, the beginning can be tough and very humbling. In the early years Coach and Bonnie ran operations from their home. Fortunately, they at least had the use of their kitchen back, as the mill handled the milling of the oats.
After incorporating as a company in 1993, the company spent 10 years in the Rogers’ home. It wasn’t until 2003 that the company reached the point where it was just too big to run out of their home.
With the two never-give-up spirits leading the company, Coach’s Oats saw drastic leaps in their accomplishments. It took hard work, sweat and sacrifice. Today Coach’s Oats conducts business at our office headquarters in Yorba Linda, Calif. Coach’s Oats is available in various stores throughout the country and several restaurants within Southern California.
I believe this is what makes Coach’s Oats truly great: made from love, generosity, hard work and determination. Although Coach retired from coaching gymnastics in 1999 he flips for his oats and continues to strive for success.
Coach’s Oats is not the only business started from home. We always like hearing stories of other businesses ran or started from home. Let us know your story.
