With fall comes the distinct, wonderful flavor of apples, pumpkin and cranberries, to name a few. If you live in an area where you are fortunate enough to pick fresh apples or pumpkins, it is a definite must. Visiting a local farm is a great way to enjoy the season with family and friends, and to take advantage of the freshest produce.
Coach Lizzy visited Los Rios Ranchos, in Oak Glen, Calif., and picked apples, pumpkins and even raspberries. The ranch also offers seasonal activities such as pressing your own cider, hay rides and sampling fresh apple butter. Bring the flavors of fall to your kitchen with this recipe:
Ingredients
- *Recipe makes one serving; adapt ingredients for as many or as few as you would like.
- ¼ cup peanuts
- 2 Tbsp. Coach’s Oats®
- 1 individual pack of fat free caramel dipping sauce
- Lemon juice
- 1 apple (variety of your choice)
Instructions
- Chop peanuts and oats in a blender or with a knife until crumbs are your desired size.
- Cut apple into slices. Sprinkle lemon juice over the each slice to prevent from browning.
- Dip one end or half of slice into caramel, then coat with peanut topping.
- Refrigerate or eat instantly!
